Around Salalah

Ubiquitous camels

part of a herd of about 50 who had a bath in the lagoon, a snack of seaweed and grass and then went for a wander on the beach

Why do camels love to lick cars???

My bird watching buddy Salim on a day when we saw a lot of eagles and ducks, including some familiar North American species, around Mirbat

Doorways and windows in Mirbat east of Salalah on the coast

Tropical dry forest

Omani scarecrow

camel pen

The only bit of color in a totally beige landscape

A succulent has completely enveloped this tree.

Not much soil to be seen among the rocks, but this terrain supports deciduous trees.

Christmas in Salalah

Male Palestine sunbird on top of terrace narturtiums.

Procession for an unknown occasion, complete with incense, bagpipes, bicycles and cell phones. Taken from my balcony

Ring-necked parakeet. Beautiful and extraordinarily noisy.

What IS that appendage escaping from the pouch below the camel?

Baby donkey in Wadi Darbat. Very friendly.

African paradise flycatcher
